Worship summit
This event took place June 13, and gathered together worship leaders from all
over Metro Vancouver. The main speaker was Graham Ord, with Andy Park also
contributing. MTG’s Creative and Performing Arts leaders Russ and Sandy Rosen facilitated the day’s presentations.
Sex trafficking
MTG is helping the church address social concerns raised by the games. At such
large events, there is always greater demand in the sex trade. This increase
brings a rise in sex trafficking. ‘Buying Sex is Not a Sport’ is a grassroots campaign to raise awareness and effect change around sex
trafficking and the 2010 Olympics. With forums and significant media coverage,
MTG’s partner REED is fully engaging this issue. June 16 marked a day of fasting and
prayer prior to REED’s participation in the Langara Dialogues the next day. Info: embracedignity.org.
Fusion
All over the world, ‘Open Crowd Festivals’ are being used to transform local communities. MTG partners Fusion Canada held
a one-day ‘Open Crowd Festival Training Day’ June 13. Info: ca.fusioninternational.org.
